What’s Taxed And Tax-Free During Maryland And Virginia’s Tax-Free Holidays?

It’s about that time. Kids are headed back to school in the coming weeks. Be sure to take advantage of the tax-free holidays and get the biggest bang for your buck. In Virginia, most school supplies will be tax-free during the holiday while in Maryland clothing and footwear will be offered tax-free.

Tax-free items in Virginia include:

Most school supplies such as pencils, notebooks, construction paper, scissors, loose-leaf notebook paper

Clothing and footwear less than $100 or less

Power generators

Virginia’s holiday is set for Friday, Aug 5 through Sunday, Aug 7. For more information on merchandise during Virginia’s tax-free holiday, see here.
