Rolling Thunder Bikers Arrive In the DMV for Memorial Day Weekend

Thousands of bikers are set to hit the area this week to help draw attention to the number of military men and women still missing and prisoners of war. Rolling Thunder’s motto is “We Will Not Forget.” The organization is marking its 30th Anniversary and WHUR’s Taylor Thomas had an opportunity to talk with some veterans about their mission of honoring our POWs and MIAs during five days of events and tributes.

WHUR and FedEx Honor Military Moms

WHUR and FedEx hosted our Annual Mother’s Day Luncheon for 50 Military Mothers complete with great food, music, card, flowers, candy, and other surprises. These women serve in our nation’s various branches of the military and are both officers and enlisted personnel. They hold two of the toughest jobs on the planet. They serve our country by protecting and defending our freedoms. They are also mothers.

“Say Yes To The Prom” Initiative Provides Prom Attire To Area Kids In Need

200 under-served youth from the District, Montgomery County, and Baltimore were treated to a prom of a lifetime. It was all courtesy of TLC and a host of other sponsors, including Macy’s and Men’s Wearhouse. Taylor Thomas caught up with TLC’s Monte Durham and a few of the students to get a sneak peak inside their “prom dream.”
