State of the Art New Health Facility Coming to Prince George’s County

A new multi-million dollar medical facility is set to open in Laurel at the end of 2017. The Minimally Invasive Vascular Center is a 27-thousand square foot facility designed to treat persons with disease of the arteries, veins, and lymphatic systems. WHUR’s Taylor Thomas takes us to the construction site for the topping out ceremony for this new facility that’s providing new jobs and cutting edge medical treatment.

Bishop McNamara Students Highlight Harriet Tubman On Stage

More than 100 students from BMHS will take to the historic stage of the Warner Theatre to perform an original creation celebrating the life of American icon Harriet Tubman. This dance theatre celebration will feature African and Modern Dance, live music, and drumming, along with cutting-edge technology. Taylor Thomas got a sneak peak of this must see performance.

Every day 10 people die in unintentional drowning incidents in the United States. One in five of those persons is a youth under the age of 14. The USA Swimming Foundation is working to turn those numbers around with a goal of providing 1 million swimming lessons to children this summer.
