Veterans Day is here and many business recognize the holiday by offering discounts for veterans, active duty members and their families. Here are some freebies and deals available today to honor you for your service. Most businesses listed require proof of military service to receive the perks. 

A Free Meal or Drink


Chili’s,  Bob Evans, Applebee’s and California Pizza Kitchen  are all offering veterans and active military members a free meal from a select menu on Veterans Day.

Veteran’s can also get a free donut from Dunkin’ Donuts with a special “thank you note.” This weekend at participating Starbucks veterans, active-duty members and military spouses get a free 12 oz brewed coffee on Veterans Day. The coffee chain also has a commitment to training and hiring veterans and military spouses.

Freebies On Some Fun

Veterans and active-duty members get a free large popcorn at AMC Theatres when they purchase their movie ticket with an AMC Stubs membership. Museums and Zoos are offering free admission on for veterans and military personnel like the Monticello, National Law Enforcement Museum,

This weekend would be a good chance to visit the Newseum one last time before they close. Admission is free all weekend for service members and veterans.

If you want to have a getaway, Wyndham Hotels are offering 15 percent off for military, active members, and their families.

Discounts on Retail

From Novemeber 6-11, Amazon is offering their Prime service for $79, which is $40 less than their normal price.

Great Clips is offering free haircuts on Monday, but if you want a trim another time, you can get a free haircut card that is good until the rest of the year.

Goodyear autoservice is offering free vehicle checks and free tire instillation from November 8-16.

Food Lion, Publix and Target are all offering 10 percent off purchases for Veterans Day.
