Meet Me In The Kitchen

And Let’s Discuss Cooking with Maca Root:
Maca, comes from a root in the radish family that grows in the mountains of Peru. It is filled with vitamin c & b, calcium, potassium, phosphorous, magnesium, iron and zinc. It’s a great energy booster.

Here’s some ways on how you can use Maca: You can use Maca as a Tea.  Ideally add the powder one or two minutes after your tea is prepared. If needed, you can add milk or honey.

  • Tea of your choice (herbal ideally)
  • 1 tsp of Maca powder
  • 1 cup of hot water Soya Milk (optional)
  • Honey (optional)

You can use Maca in your morning breakfast smoothie. It’s great for when your body feels tired and exhausted in the morning and you need that boost.


  • 1 spoon of Maca
  • 1 banana
  • 2 spoons of Muesli
  • few Strawberries
  • Some honey (optional)
  • ½-1 cup of Almond milk
  • natural yogurt (optional-alternative to almond milk)

Mix and blend all ingredients until smooth. Enjoy your Maca smoothie breakfast to go!

Or, you can make a wonderful Vegetable Medley Maca Salad Ingredients:

  • 2-3 spoons of maca
  • 2 cups of broccoli
  • 2 cups of cauliflower
  • 2 cooked carrots
  • Sesame seeds
  • Tofu
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Lemon (to sprinkle the salad)
  • Plain yogurt (for dressing)

Cook broccoli, cauliflower and carrots. Cut them in cubes as well as tofu and put all the ingredients in the bowl. Add maca powder, sunflower seeds and lemon. Mix well. Use plain yogurt for dressing. Alternatively you can make your salad a main meal by adding grilled chicken or shrimps.
