If The Shoe Fits… Exercise, Laughing!

Hello WHUR Family,

Hope all is well. Me? I’m doing absolutely fabulous. It’s time to get outdoors and make fitness your priority. It‘s all about you getting started on your workout program. Here’s a great way to get started on your exercise program. So, Let’s do it. Your exercise program for today, Monday and Wednesday of next week.

Your Exercise Information:

You’ll going to do 30-45 minutes of moderate cardiovascular: Walking: Is good for – Fat Burning & Leg Strengthen, Running: Is good for ­­– Fat Burning, Leg Strengthen and Aerobic Conditioning, Hill Repeats: Is good for – Fat Burning, Leg Strengthen, Aerobic Conditioning and improves the function of your neuromuscular system and increase maximal stroke volume in your heart.

Then you’re going to finish it all off for your core with Crunches, Reverse Crunches and Planks and 3-Way Calves Raises for your lower legs.

With These Exercises: You will do 4 set of 8-12 repetition and hold your planks for 20 seconds then rest for 10 seconds.

Remember your goal is to become Fit and Fabulous. So, work with what you have and all happening right here.

Meal of The Day

GRILLED TUNA WITH BASIL PESTO

Grilled Tuna_Basil

Ingredients

  • 4  tuna steaks
  • kosher salt
  • fresh ground black pepper
  • 1⁄4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • garlic clove, peeled
  • cups fresh basil leaves
  • 1⁄4 cup toasted pine nuts
  • salt
  • fresh ground black pepper
  • 3⁄4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1⁄2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • tablespoons lemon

Directions

  • Preheat grill to 400°F.
  • Wash and pat dry the tuna steaks. Season with salt and pepper and brush both sides with olive oil.
  • Place tuna on hot grill and sear each side for 2 minutes for rate. If you prefer well done, cook the tuna an additional 2 to 3 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and let it rest.
  • Into the bowl of a food processor, add the garlic, basil leaves, pine nuts, salt, and pepper. Pulse until finely chopped. With the blender still running, slowly pour 1/2 cup of olive oil. Check for a thick, yet smooth consistency, adding more oil if necessary. Transfer to a bowl and stir in 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese.
  • Slice the tuna across the grain and on a bias into 1/2-inch thick slices. Place the slices on a serving plate and drizzle with lemon juice. Sauce tuna with pesto. Enjoy!
