Chrisette Michele Talks Love The Second Time Around And “Milestone” [EXCLUSIVE]

Chrisette Michele

Singer Chrisette Michele stopped by the WHUR studio to talk with TMG about her new album Milestone, tour, reconciling with old crush and rapper Rick Ross, owning her own label, and getting engaged in seven days. It’s been a whirlwind for Chrisette Michele recently and there’s no sign of her slowing down anytime soon.

Milestone has arrived! | My latest album… Filled with 21 tracks of the last 10 years with of experiences in my crazy life. | it's the sound I've been dying to create. I LOVE minimal tracks, with light production, heavy bass and thick harmonies condensed & tranquil. | I'm in love with being a millennial. I'm in love with my youth. I have an old soul but I am in NO WAYS old. | This is my version of all my favorite music from my favorite albums "The Velvet Rope" by my love Janet Jackson, 90's girly Mariah, SZA, Jhene Aiko, the simple chords of the Beatles, the easy hip hop of the early 2000's & late 90's. | I love this work. I wrote these songs from a free place, not trying to please anyone, no pressure to be "soulful", to be in a box. I love music PERIOD. This is the most honest I've been since my first album. | I need everyone to go out and cop MILESTONE or download it. | Standout tracks are "To The Moon" , "Reckless Lover", "Black Girl Magic" & "Meant to Be". | Write a review on ITunes, post a review on your timeline, my timeline. I'm excited to feel the positive vibes and take this show on the road. | Go Pick Up MILESTONE today… LINK IN BIO

This is the most honest I’ve been since my first album.”

Chrisette’s latest album is a combination of tracks from the last ten years. She recorded tracks that display different elements of her personality and the album as a whole encompasses the singer’s total self.

It’s impossible not to notice her aura glowing. Chrisette found love with an old flame the second time around and after just seven days of courting, the couple got engaged. The two dated years ago in college and reconnected after several years.

When asked how she knew if he was the one for her, she asked her now fiance “I’ve been praying. Have you?” He replied “yes.” She then replied, “well we know this is God so let’s not play with this this time.”

Chrisette describes love the second time around as being safe and secure. “Everywhere where I lack, he has the increase.”

Her fiance was also able to spark the reconciliation between former friend Rick Ross by sharing a Chrisette recorded, with no intention on releasing, and the rapper absolutely loved it. Needless to say, the rest is history.

Chrisette now owns her own record label entitled Rich Hipster and is in control of her own destiny. Be sure to support Chrisette’s latest project Milestone which is available now.
