TLC to Release Final Album

The CrazySexyCool girl group announced the release of their fifth and final album last week.

TLC‘s manager, Bill Diggins, revealed the album would tentatively drop this summer on the group’s Kickstarter page.

In 2015, TLC launched a Kickstarter to fund their final studio album. They received about $430,000 from 4,000 fans including a $5,000 donation from singer Katy Perry. However when there was a delay in the production, fans believed the group scammed them, which birthed the online hashtag #TLCIsGoingToJailParty. Diggins assured fans that they weren’t being scammed and the album was in process.

This upcoming release is the first studio album since they dropped their 3D album, which went platinum. 3D was released several months after the death of member Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. Since the loss of Left Eye, the R&B group has toured. TLC released a VH1 biopic: CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story in October 2013.
