Springtime Snowstorm Impacting The DMV

Road crews are out in force across the DMV as a springtime snowstorm begins to assault the region. Flakes began flying before dawn this morning and the storm’s output is expected to intensify as the day wears on. Forecasters are calling for four to six inches in DC and Northern Virginia and six to eight inches north and west of Washington. A Winter Storm Warning is active until 8:00 tonight.

Family Of Suspected Austin Bomber Preparing Statement

The family of suspected Central Texas bomber Mark Conditt is going to be issuing a statement at some point today. Austin police say Conditt’s family is going to express their condolences to those affected by this month’s bombings. Detectives say the family wasn’t involved in the explosion and has been extremely cooperative. Conditt took his own life this morning during a chase involving police. He’s suspected of killing two people and injuring several more in the string of blasts.

Online Fundraising Account For Critically Injured Student

Financial support is pouring in for one of the victims of yesterday’s shooting at a Southern Maryland high school. A family friend started a YouCaring online fundraising account for Jaelynn Willey. Police say the 16-year-old was critically injured when 17-year-old Austin Rollins opened fire at Great Mills High School in St. Mary’s County. As of late this morning, more than eleven-hundred people had donated nearly 44-thousand-dollars to the YouCaring page to help Willey’s family with medical expenses.

Trump Reportedly Furious Over Leak About Putin Call

President Trump is said to be furious over a leak about his congratulatory phone call to Vladimir Putin this week. Trump was reportedly advised by his national security team not to congratulate Putin for his re-election as Russia’s president. CNN says Chief of Staff John Kelly is also furious and is trying to find the source of the leak. Meantime, Trump is facing congressional criticism for congratulating Putin while not pressing him on the poisoning of an ex-spy and his daughter in Great Britain.
