A gunman remains on the loose near Arundel Mills…

A gunman remains on the loose in Maryland this hour. Police are searching for the suspect who fired a gun at another person this morning outside of the Pet Smart Store at Arundel Mills Mall. The victims was grazed and is expected to make a full recovery. Police have not stated a motive in the case.

The fight over funding DHS continues on the hill…

Funding the Department of Homeland Security is the focus for all lawmakers on the hill. The deadline to avert a partical department shutdown is midnight on Friday. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says he will call a vote on a funding bill that does not
including wording on reversing President Obama’s Executive order
on immigration reform. The bill needs 60 votes to pass, yesterday they were only able to muster up 47 votes.

The Prince George’s County District Court House is closed for a fourth day…

The Prince George’s County District Court House remains closed
for a fourth day today, the problem another water pipe has burst
as a result of the below zero temperatures. There is some concern
over computers and case files that may have been damaged or
destroyed by the multiple water pipes that have erupted since last
week.

You will soon be able to small amounts posses marijuana in the District…

If you live in the nations capitol you will soon be able to grow small amounts of marijuana at home and smoke it on private property here in the District. You will not be able to sell it and the District Government will not tax it. Earlier this morning Mayor Muriel Bowser announced the city’s plans to move forward with the referendum approved by voters last November, despite threats from some in Congress to block the law.
