The Chair of the Maryland Democratic Party is stepping down.  Yvette Lewis has announced that she is leaving office to spend more time with her family.  She has held the position since 2011.

Construction on a major commuter route will remain for 6 months…

Construction has begun on the 16th Street Bridge at Military Road. DDOT crews hope to have the bridge rebuilt by August. Look for rolling closures and heavier traffic on Georgia Avenue.

DC Mayor announces a new place to go if your unemployed….

DC Mayor Muriel Bowser has announced the creation of a new Career Academy. The facility will not only help unemployed residents find employment but it will help them learn new skills in growing fields. The site will also offer an apprenticeship program.

German co pilot involved in this weeks plane crash hid his illness from his employer…

German officials believe the co pilot who intentionally crashed a plane into the mountains in the French Alps, had a sick note for the day of the crash.  A search of Andreas Lubitz home uncovered ripped up sick  notes.  Officials believe that he had been hiding an illness from his employer.  German news outlet also state that he had a recent fallout with his girlfriend.

Growing up in a military family, Taylor Thomas lived overseas until she was 16 years old. She called places such as Great Britain and the Philippines home. For a time, Taylor even spoke with a British accent. Well now she resides in the DC area and for the past three years has worked as the news anchor for The Steve Harvey Morning Show on WHUR. Recently, Taylor has adopted the Washington Redskins as her most loved pro sports team.
