Pope is making his mark in the District…

Right now, Pope Francis is slowly coming to the end of his historic parade down the streets of DC. Thousands are cheering and looking on at the Holy Father loving called the “People’s Pope”. During a formal Welcome this morning at the White House the President Obama commended him for inspiring millions.The Pontiff then spoke to the crowd of 15,000 and he commented on the importance of immigrants to America. Afterwards the two met one on one. At 4:15 the Pontiff will canonize a Saint at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. Tomorrow he is slated to speak before a joint session of Congress.

Congress has just days to avert a Government shutdown…

Lawmakers have four legislative days to come up with a budget deal before the Federal Government is forced to close at the end of the month. The big sticking issue, some GOP members do not support Federal money being used to fund Planned Parenthood.

DC Police make an arrest in the city’s 116th homicide overnight…

The District has had its 116th homicide. It happened last night on “V” Street in N.W… The victim has not been identified but one person is in police custody in connecting with the murder.
