Congress returns to work, gun control a major focus…

Congress gets back to work after being on a two-week break. It’s the first time lawmakers will meet since the Valentine Massacre at the Florida High School. Atop their list changes to the country’s gun control laws and school safety.

Missing CDC Commander with ties to our area…

The family of missing Timothy Cunningham are hoping the national attention on his disappearance will lead to his safe return home. He was last heard from on Feb. 12th when he told co-workers he was not feeling well and headed home. Police later found his SUV, car keys, cell phone and wallet all in his home. Cunningham’s parents live in Waldorf, Md and they have been in Atlanta where he works for the CDC as a Scientist since his disappearance.

A decrease in Flu visits, 13 children deaths last week…

The CDC says it’s the first week were Flu-related doctor visits were down. 13 children, however, died of the virus last week. It brings the seasons pediatric death total to 97.
