DC Police shoot an armed suspect in S.E…

DC Police have been involved in a shooting. It happened this morning at 13th Street and Good Hope Road in S.E after police responded to a man with a gun. No officers were injured. The suspect who police say refused to drop his weapon is listed in serious condition.

DC City Council set to vote on emergency bill to hire more police…

Speaking of DC Police later today the DC City Council will vote on an Emergency Bill presented to them by Council Member Vincent Gray to put more officers on the streets. Gray says the District Police Department is at a 10 year low.  $64 million dollars collected from automatic traffic tickets will help fund increasing the department from 34-hundred to
42-hundred officers.

Senate votes on Secretary of Education, Democratic lawmakers continue to protest it…

At the top of the hour the Senate will vote on President Trump’s Secretary of Education choice Betsy DeVos. Right now Democrats are continuing their 20-hour long protest on the Senate floor.  They need one more Republican to break ranks to stop her confirmation, if not VP Mike Pence is expected to issue the tie breaker and confirming her nomination.
