DC’s Mayor-for-Life Marion Barry, Jr. Has Passed Away

It is with a heavy heart that I report the passing of former four-time DC Mayor and Ward 8 City Councilman Marion S. Barry, Jr.

Mayor Marion Barry with Molette Green at WHUR Food 2 Feed 2015Barry’s office is reporting that he died midnight Sunday, November 23, 2014 at United Medical Center.

Barry leaves behind his wife Mrs. Cora Masters Barry and his son Marion Christopher Barry.  Barry was 78-years-old.

Barry did what was probably his last interview this past Tuesday with WHUR as we held our annual radiothon Food2Feed.  It is so fitting that one of his last interviews was done championing the needs of those less fortunate.

RIP Mayor-for-Life Marion Barry
