Former teachers aide pleads guilty to Federal sex charges…

The former teacher’s aide at Judge Slyvania Woods Elementary School in Prince George’s County has pleaded guilty to 15 federal sexual exploitation charges of a minor. 23-year-old Deonte Carraway still faces more than 200 charges of child abuse and pornography in the state of Maryland.

At Noon, Prince George’s County Police Chief Hank Stawinski will update the public on last weekend’s triple shooting at a new bar in Bowie. Stawinski will release the name of the three employee’s killed. The suspect a bartender at the bar 40-year-oldKarlief Moye. He’s in the hospital after allegedly shooting himself in the stomach after the attacks.

Mayor Bowser announces a change to the school lottery system…

It’s Education week here in the District and during this morning’s press conference kick-off DC Mayor Bowser announced changes to the District’s school lottery system. Effective the 2018 to 2019 school year, kids living within half a mile of a charter school and more than a mile away from their DCPS zoned school will be offered admission preference for elementary school. Other policy changes include expanding access to high-quality schools and data and school information.
