Funeral today for Bowie State stabbing victim…

Homegoing services for Bowie State University student 2nd Lt. Richard Collins III began today at First Baptist Church of Glenarden. Collins was killed on the University of Maryland’s campus last Saturday. His funeral starts at 11 this morning.

Beating the holiday rush…

If you have plans to go out of town this holiday weekend, it is recommended to leave before 10 this morning and after 10 tonight. Triple A Mid-Atlantic says some 39 million people will hit the roads this Memorial Day weekend. Meanwhile,
DC Mayor Muriel Bowser will ring in the pool season early today with a special ceremony at 4 at Benjamin Banneker’s Recreational Center. All public pools in the area are expected to open at noon tomorrow.
