A seventeen-year-old was killed in a single-car crash on Temple Hill Road in Clinton, Maryland. Norman White lost control of his vehicle and hit a tree on the side of the road Tuesday night on Temple Hills Road. Investigators are still uncertain of what caused him to lose control. White was a respected varsity football player at Gwynn Park High School. Counselors are on standby for grieving family and friends.

Prince George’s County Schools face $90 Million budget cut…

Prince George’s County’s proposed budget plan will give county schools $90 million less than the school board asked for. These cuts may impact stipends for teachers, the school breakfast program and a program that helps students with disciplinary problems. Prince George’s County teachers rallied at High Point High School yesterday afternoon in protest of the proposed plan. A final vote is expected today.

The University of Maryland President creates a plan to combat racism on campus…

The President of the University of Maryland, Wallace Loh, has created a five-step action plan to promote inclusivity and combat hate on campus. This follows the deadly stabbing of a Bowie State University student by a University of Maryland student days before his graduation. The plan includes a $100,000 budget for diversity education as well as a task force which will respond to cases of bias and enforce campus safety.
