Road Rage Shooting Leaves One Dead, One Hurt

One man is dead and another man hospitalized following a shooting connected to a road rage incident. It happened around 8:45 this morning on I-295 near Laboratory Road. Both victims were found on the side of the highway with gunshot wounds. One of the victims died of his injuries. Police are still trying to sort out the details. Anyone who witnessed the incident this morning is being asked to call police.

DC Police ID Murder Victim

DC police are identifying a woman who was gunned down in Southeast. They say 27-year-old Charnice Milton of Southeast died at the hospital a short time after she was found wounded along Good Hope Road last night. The killing was part of a violent night that saw four other people injured in separate shootings across the District. No arrests have been made so far.

Two Women Plead Guilty In Murder At Donovan Hotel

Two women have pleaded guilty in connection with the murder at the Donovan Hotel in downtown Washington earlier this year. Jamyra Gallmon and Dominique Johnson entered their guilty pleas in court this morning in connection with the February stabbing death of David Messerschmitt. Prosecutors say it was an online sex encounter that turned into a botched robbery. The 21-year-old Gallmon was the alleged killer and the 19-year-old Johnson was her accomplice, prosecutors say.

Trial Date Set For Bloodied UVA Student

A University of Virginia student bloodied during his arrest outside a Charlottesville pub will go on trial September 30th. Lawyers for Martese Johnson had tried to have charges of obstruction of justice and public intoxication dismissed today, but a judge ruled otherwise. Johnson needed ten stitches after his head hit the sidewalk March 18th at the Trinity Irish Pub before he could be taken into custody. He’ll be in court for a status hearing June 12th.
