Obama To Impose New Gun Rules

President Obama is expected to announce a major change to the nation’s gun laws.  A White House statement says the President will meet with Attorney General Loretta Lynch today to finalize new executive actions.  The President wants to expand background checks on buyers and impose other restrictions.  Obama has complained for months that gun laws needed to change following the rash of mass shootings. 

MedStar Hospital Patient’s Death A Homicide

The DC medical examiner has ruled a patient’s death at MedStar Washington Hospital Center a homicide.  Seventy-four-year-old James McBride died in October following a confrontation with security guards at the hospital.  The medical examiner’s report shows McBride died of a broken neck.  DC police continue to investigate the incident.

Tickets Sold Out For Game Against Packers

Tickets are already sold out for Sunday’s playoff game between the Washington Redskins and Green Bay Packers.  The Redskins announced this morning that it took just 13 minutes for all tickets to sell out.  The game is set for 4:40 p.m. Eastern at FedEx Field.

Lows In The Teens Tonight

If you think it’s cold today, just wait until the sun goes down this evening.  Forecasters are calling for temperatures in the teens overnight tonight as the DC region experiences the coldest temperatures since March of last year.  Tuesday is expected to be cold, as well, with clear skies and highs in the mid 30s.
