Clinton Comments On Email Controversy

Hillary Clinton says she chose to use a private email account while Secretary of State for the sake of convenience.  In comments at the UN today, Clinton said that looking back, it would have been better to use her official email.  Clinton has faced some criticism over the past few weeks over the fact that she used a private email server rather than her official account during her tenure as Secretary of State. The private account was run through a special server that was set up in Clinton’s New York home.

Two Southbound Lanes Open On I-95

Two southbound lanes are now open again on I-95 in Prince George’s County following this morning’s tanker truck accident.  While the two left lanes can be used at Route 198, the two right lanes remain blocked as a fuel cleanup continues.  About a thousand gallons of biodiesel fuel spilled onto the roadway.  All northbound lanes reopened earlier this afternoon.

Donna Edwards Announces Run For Mikulski Seat

Maryland Congresswoman Donna Edwards is now officially a candidate for the U.S. Senate.  In a brief video released today, the 56-year-old Prince George’s County Democrat announced that she’ll be running for the seat being vacated by retiring Senator Barbara Mikulski.  Edwards would become the first African-American to represent the state in the Senate if elected in 2016. 

Accused Shooter Linked To More Incidents

A former Maryland corrections officer already accused of five random shootings is being linked to two more.  Laurel police say Hong Young of Beltsville likely fired four bullets into the window of the Grand “E” Buffet on Fort Meade Road, while nearby Teppanyaki Grill and Buffet on Baltimore Avenue had shattered windows.  The incidents reported on March 2nd happened just before Young’s arrest in connection with the other shootings.
