Torrential rain is headed to our area, a “Flash Flood Watch” kicks in at Noon…

We are in for some heavy rain today, in fact most in the WHUR listening area will be placed under a “Flash Flood Watch” starting at Noon through tonight. The area’s include the District, Prince George’s, Montgomery, Anne Arundel, Howard and Alexandria.

Key sections of the “Patriot Act” have expired, some are concerned about our safety nationally…

Key parts of the “Patriot Act” expired last night. The provision that allowed the Government to review and listen in on any phone call for national security, is what many lawmakers are concerned about. It’s controversial issue for lawmakers on both sides. Leaders in the House and Senate are set to resume talks later today. The lapse is only expected to last for a few days until a deal is reach.

Police in Prince George’s County search for the gunman involved in a fatal drive by Sunday…

There’s been no arrest in last Sunday’s drive by shooting that resulted in 1 death and 3 others being injured. The drive by that seem to target a group of people on the basketball court, happened as a family gathered at Ardmore Park in Springdale for a family reunion. The victims have not been identified.
