DC Police investigate the city’s 115th homicide…

There were 3 separate fatal shootings in the District over the weekend. The deaths bring the cities homicide rate to 115th. The most recent happened on Sunday on “M” Street in NW. Police are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to an arrest. The other shootings were in S.E..

Look for changes ahead of the Pope’s arrival tomorrow…

Pope Francis arrives in our area tomorrow. Later today look for a security fence to go up around the U.S. Capitol. He arrives at 4 at Joint Base Andrews on Tuesday. On Wednesday there will be a parade from 4 a.m. to Noon for the Pontiff. Followed by a 3 p.m. Mass at Basilica of the National Shrine of Immaculate Conception. If you work in the District telework if you can, delays on the roads are expected to be in excess of an hour and a half.

Former Tennis star James Blake meets with NY leaders about wrongful arrest…

Former Tennis star James Blake has a scheduled meeting this morning with the Mayor of New York City and the Police Commissioner. It’s the first since he was mistakenly ruffed up and arrested by a police officer who mistaken him for a criminal wanted in a credit card ring. Blake reportedly wants the officer fired.
