Nurses at Med Star in DC Walk off the job

Nineteen Hundred Nurses at Med Star Washington Hospital have begun a 24 hour strike. The strike that began at 7 am is over failed contract talks between their Nurses’ Union and Hospital Administrators. At issue is pay and staff shortages they feel if continues will put patients in danger. Hospital officials say they are open and that they have brought in temporary help to fill the position of the Nurses who are are strike.

The threat of gun violence prompts police to add extra security at two local schools

Police in Frederick County Maryland are airing on the side of caution, this following social media rumors of a possible shooting incident at Tuscarora and Frederick High Schools. Police were also on the school campuses on Friday when the rumors first surfaced.

The murders of two NYPD officers was a retaliatory for the death of Michael Brown and Eric Garner

Fox News is reporting that investigator believe the execution style murders of Officer Rafeal Ramos and Wenjian Liu were in retaliation for the police shooting deaths of unarmed Michael Brown and Eric Garner. Investigators site comments made on the accused gunman social media sites. 22 year old Ismaayl Brinsely put on instagram, “if they take one of ours, we take two of theirs”. The family of Officer Rafeal Ramos says they are in mourning but they forgive the gunman. NY Police however, are turning their backs on Mayor Bill deBlascio and blaming him for the tension that they believe lead to the violence again the police officers. Brown and Garner protestors in Maryland and New York have been ask to hold off on any protest until the officers are laid to rest.
