Charles County School Official could face a school bus strike this afternoon…

Charles County School Officials are preparing for a possible school bus strike this afternoon. Drivers want better pay and the right to unionize. A hot line to keep parents informed has been set up the number to call is 301-932-6610.

A man is found dead in a car in the Anacostia River…

Police have yet to identify the adult male found in a car that plunged into the Anacostia River last night. The overturn car remains in the water. How the vehicle got there is still under investigation.

Retrial date set for William Porter…

A retrial date in the William Porter murder case has been set for June 13th. Porter’s trial will now fall after the 5 other former officers also charged in the death of Freddie Gray. Attorney Warren Brown says it will be very hard for a jury to reach a verdict in any of the Freddie Gray cases. The next trial will be for Caesar Goodson on January 6th.

A Texas grand jury decides not to indict in Sandra Bland case…

In Texas a Waller County Grand Jury has decided not to indict any Sheriff’s or jail guards in the death of Sandra Bland. Bland is the African American woman who got into a confrontation with a state trooper who pulled her over for a traffic stop. Bland’s death was ruled a suicide which the family does not believe is true. The grand jury still has to determine if the trooper should face charges for pulling her over and arresting her.
