Police investigate a triple shooting in Falls Church…

Three men were shot earlier this morning outside of the State Theater in Falls Church, Va. There injures are not said to be life threatening. The gunman remains at large.

Dr. King Holiday free events…

It’s the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday today and all across the nation communities are celebrating his life and legacy. At 9 this morning DC Mayor Bowser will take part in a wreath laying ceremony at the King National Memorial. At 10 their will be a peace walk followed by a parade in S.E.. There is also a Stop the Violence March at FedEx Field in Landover.

WHUR holds a public conversation on Race Relations for the King holiday….

You can join WHUR for a conversation on Race Relations starting at 10 at First Baptist Church of Glenarden in Upper Marlboro. There will be a special guest performance by Bishop Hezekiah Walker. This event is free and open to all.

200 Reagan National Airport workers who want a pay raise plan to block roadway in the city today…

Some 200 members from Reagan National plan to join others in 6 states demanding more pay $15 an hour. The disgruntle workers plan to start at Independence Avenue near the MLK Memorial to Kutz Bridge. There is a plan to disrupt traffic along the way and block the bridge.

Democratic presidential candidates squared off on Obamacare and gun violence…

The Democratic presidential hopefuls squared off last night in Charleston, SC. Front runner Hilliary Clinton dominated the discussion with direct attacks on Bernie Sanders on the issue of Obamacare and gun reform. Political watchers after the debate gave the win to her.
