“Winter Weather Advisory” issued for our area…

A “Winter Weather Advisory” is in effect until 10 this morning for residents South and East of the DC. Look for a snowy and sleet mixture and possible slick spots out on the roads. The weather has prompted school officials in Calvert Co. to cancel classes. Operating on a 2 hour delay are St. Mary’s and Anne Arundel County schools.

Murdered school teacher is remembered today in Capitol Heights…

A candle light vigil is set for 5:30 today for Neshante Davis at Bradbury Heights Elementary School in Capitol Heights. Davis is the teacher who was shot and killed along with her 2 year old daughter outside of her home in Ft. Washington this week. The child’s father, who had recently been ordered to pay $600 a month in child support has confessed to the crimes.

Three cases of Zika confirmed in DC…

DC Health Officials have confirmed 3 cases of the Zika virus. One of the victims is pregnant. All of the victims had traveled to countries were the virus is present.

Montgomery Co. names their new Superintendent…

Montgomery County Schools have a new Superintendent. Jack Smith has been named to the position. He will begin his 4 year contract in July.

Growing up in a military family, Taylor Thomas lived overseas until she was 16 years old. She called places such as Great Britain and the Philippines home. For a time, Taylor even spoke with a British accent. Well now she resides in the DC area and for the past three years has worked as the news anchor for The Steve Harvey Morning Show on WHUR. Recently, Taylor has adopted the Washington Redskins as her most loved pro sports team.
