DC Police make an arrest in Mondays Deanwood Metro Station…

Right now, an 18 year old is in police custody in DC for yesterday’s stabbing death of 15 year old John Evans. Evans was a student at Richard Wright Public Charter School. He was on his way to a court hearing. Assistant Police Chief Peter Newsham says the incident was capture on surveillance camera at the Deanwood Metro station. Newsham says the video shows there was some time of physical confrontation between the two.

Montgomery County Leaders discuss a $15 minimum wage….

Lawmakers in Montgomery County are discussing a proposal to increase minimum wage to $15. The plan calls for an increase to $12.50 by 2018, $13.75 in 2019
and $15 by 2020.

DC launches a new 24/7 victim support line…

District leaders are preparing to announce a new 24/7 DC Victim Hotline. At 10:30 tomorrow Mayor Muriel Bowser will discuss the first of it’s kind free and confidential support service for any victim of crime in the city. Victims can call in, text or chat online. Help will be available in 200 languages.

Today’s Equal Pay Day…

Today’s Equal Pay Day. In a show of support of woman, President Barack Obama is dedicate the DC headquarters of the National Women’s Party as a National Monument today.
