Area leaders update residents this morning on the massive shutdown for Metro’s Safe Track…

Phase one of Metro’s Safe Track ends today and the next real test starts this weekend. P.G. Co. Executive Rushern Baker, DC’s Mayor & Metro’s GM are holding a 10:30 press conference to discuss the complete closure of Eastern Market between Minnesota Ave. and Benning Road starting Saturday. Leaders are asking riders not to use metro during that time and either telework or car pool.

Obama head to Orlando to meet with victim families…

President Obama is on a condolence mission today in Orlando, Florida. He will meet with survivors and victim families of last weeks “Pulse” night club mass shooting. Federal authorities are still contemplating if charges will be filed against the accused gunman’s wife, Noor Salam who has admitted to trying to talk her husband
out of doing it.

A judge could acquit Caesar Goodson today in the death of Freddie Gray…

The judge presiding in the Caesar Goodson trial could acquit him today in the death of Freddie Gray. The defense has filed a motion to dismiss some or all of the charges against him. If not, the defense will be allowed to present new evidence that Gray’s death could have been an accident. University of Baltimore law professor David Jaros says the evidence pertains to testimony by Assistant Medical Examiner Dr. Carol Allan. Goodson is the only officer facing murder charges in the death of Freddie Gray.
