More delays start times for area schools this morning

The frigid temperatures and icy spots cause school officials in two counties to delay the start of classes this morning. Fairfax County School leaders have issued a 2 hour delay meanwhile, Frederick, County leaders decided on a 1 hour delay.

Prince George’s County School Board is looks at changing the school boundaries for thousands of kids

Tonight at 7pm inside of the Sasscer Administration Building in Upper Marlboro the Prince George’s County School Board will hold a public hearing on a few proposed changes that could affect thousands of parents and kids. Leaders are looking at a proposal to change the school boundaries as well as the grade structure and several programs. There’s even talk of possibly closing Thomas Claggett and Kenmore Elementary Schools.

Presidents Obama’s choice for Attorney General is put on the hot seat before GOP Senate leaders

It’s history in the making. Today the Senate Judiciary Committee will grill President Obama’s choice for Attorney General, Lorretta Lynch. Lynch is a Veteran and a U.S. attorney for Eastern District of New York. She also has a strong record on civil rights issues. She is expected to be approved, if she is, she will become the first African American female U.S. Attorney General.

Growing up in a military family, Taylor Thomas lived overseas until she was 16 years old. She called places such as Great Britain and the Philippines home. For a time, Taylor even spoke with a British accent. Well now she resides in the DC area and for the past three years has worked as the news anchor for The Steve Harvey Morning Show on WHUR. Recently, Taylor has adopted the Washington Redskins as her most loved pro sports team.
