DC’s Mayor nominates a new Fire Chief…

DC Mayor Muriel Bowser is preparing to announce her choice to become the next Fire Chief. Seattle Fire Chief Gregory Dean is expected to be named to the position. He comes to the District with over 40 years of experience as the Seattle Fire Chief.

City Officials unveil if they could have prevented the disappearance of Relisha Rudd…

DC Mayor Muriel Bowser will hold a 3:15 press conference at the police headquarters in in NW to update the community on their investigation and to reveal if they could have prevented the disappearance of 8 year old Relisha Rudd. Rudd was living in the DC homeless shelter at the time of her disappearance. She was last seen a year ago Sunday with a janitor from the shelter. The FBI is offering a 25 Thousand dollar reward for information in this case.

Free Howard University Health Fair…

It’s President Wayne A. I. Frederick’s Inauguration week. In celebration the University and the Hospital are hosting a free health fair for residents in the LeDroit Park area. Today’s free event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 2125 4th Street, N.W. Residents can get free screenings for blood pressure, glucose, podiatry issues, HIV, vision, dental and information on healthy living tips.
