The Metro is under a “Winter Storm Warning”….

The Metropolitan area is bracing for heavy snow totals today. The entire WHUR listening area is under a “Winter Storm Warning” until tonight. Most of us can expect to see between 3 and 7 inches. The heaviest snow falls is expected between Noon and 4 p.m..

Massive closures due to impending snow storm…

The Federal Government is closed today. Telework employee’s should follow their agencies policy. All major school systems in our area are closed today, that includes DC, Prince George’s, Montgomery, Alexandria and Anne Arundel county public schools. In fact, area district courts in DC and Prince George’s County are closed as well. Howard University, The University of Maryland, Prince George’s Community College, Montgomery College, UDC, American, Bowie State, George Mason, Morgan State and Towson are also closed today.

The late Marion Barry did not leave a will…

The “Washington City Paper” is reporting that the former Mayor of the District Marion Barry did not file a will with the courts. According to court papers Barry left about 16-thousand dollars worth of assets and 60-thousand dollars in unpaid taxes. No heir was named. It’s also unclear who will receive the royalties from his memoir, “Mayor for Life”.
