At 9:43 this morning, the state of Virginia will hold a state wide moment of silence to mark the 8th Anniversary of the Va Tech shooting spree. Thirty-three people including the student gunman were killed.

DC celebrates the153rd Anniversary of their Emancipation Day…

Today marks the 153rd Anniversary of DC’s Emancipation Day. Right now, Al Sharpton is leading a prayer breakfast at the Willard Hotel. An 11 am parade down Pennsylvania Avenue to Freedom Plaza is planned. At 4:30 a star studded concert is set for Freedom Plaza. Doug E. Fresh and Eric Benet are just some the the artists expected to perform.

A well known Fairfax County spokesman has been relieved of duty after being charged with possession of child pornography. Bud Walker was taken into custody yesterday, following a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
