Maryland’s Governor calls on all State Police to have body cameras…

Maryland Governor Larry Hogan says he wants all state police to be equipped with body cameras and the he is willing to sign off on a bill making it reality. Meanwhile, the Governor has sent State Troopers to Baltimore to help with security as tensions mount between police and Freddie Gray protestors. A new report this morning seems to hint that Gray was not properly secured in the police van on the way to the station and that may have caused his fatal injury.

A Prince George’s County Police Officer pleads guilty to ruffing up a teen in custody…

The Prince George’s County Police Officer caught on tape slapping and hitting a male teen while handcuffed in a holding cell has taken a plea deal. Officer Jerry Thomas will be sentenced on June 22nd.

The Senate makes history in the confirmation of Loretta lynch…

Loretta Lynch is the country’s new Attorney General. Following five months of stalled votes, the U.S. Senate confirmed her on Thursday. Lynch now becomes the first African American woman to hold this position.
