National Guard is called into Baltimore City to help curb the violence…

The City of Baltimore is under a State of Emergency and the National Guard has been brought in to keep the peace. Governor Larry Hogan has moved his office from Annapolis to Baltimore to monitor the situation. City schools and city offices are closed today. A week long city wide curfew from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. goes in effect tonight.

DC holds special elections for Ward 4 and 8 City Council Seats…

It’s Special Election Day here in the District. Voters in Ward 4 and 8 will have to decide who they want to fill the seats of former Council member Muriel Bowser and the late Marion Barry. The polls close tonight at 8 p.m..

A Prince George’s County Police Officer stands trial for assaulting a juvenile…

The trial of a Prince George’s County Police Officer accused of assaulting a student while working as a resource officer starts today. The incident involving Officer Charles Pickard happened at Suitland High School in 2013.
