The President heads to Oregon, Arizona shooter identified…

President Obama is in Roseburg, Oregon. Obama is set to meet with some of the victims families from last weeks mass shooting at a college there. The President is also expected to talk to some of the survivors. In Arizona, the shooter at Northern Arizona University has been identified as 18 year old Steven Jones. He is a student at the university. Jones is accused of shooting 4 other students following an argument, one of which died.

Roadway remains blocked following fatal tractor trailer accident in Forestville…

Clean up efforts continue in Forestville the sight of this mornings accident involving a tractor trailer that went over a beltway overpassed and landed on Suitland Parkway. Outbound Suitland Parkway remains closed. Investigators are still looking for what caused the driver who died in the crash to loose control.

Police in Prince George’s County announce a big synthetic drug bust…

Prince George’s County Police have seized over 1,000 packets of synthetic drugs from 3 local convenience stores. At Noon, the head of the county’s Narcotics Division will hold a press conference about the county’s crack down on synthetic marijuana. It will be held at the Police Service Complex in Palmer Park.

A settlement is reached in No. Charleston police shooting of an unarmed A.A. driver…

The North Charleston City Council has announced a historic $6.4 million dollar settlement in the police shooting death of Walter Scott. The Scott family said it doesn’t bring him back, but they are thankful that his children will be taken care of.
The family plans to focus now on the criminal trial of the officer who shot and killed him. The Scott family has also decided to donate some of the settlement money to help with relief efforts in the state for families devastated by the flooding.
