It’s a day off for most in our area. Federal and Government offices are closed today for the Columbus Day Holiday. In DC, you can park for free at the meters, except for spaces along the street car route.

It’s a frightening story. On Saturday, a DC woman was raped after she mistakenly got into a vehicle, she thought was the UBER car she had reserved. The attack happened in the 3500 block of Macomb Street in N.W.

Two experts say Police shooting death of 12 year old Tamir Rice was “reasonable”…

Two experts looking into the police shooting death of 12 year old Tamir Rice have decided that the death was “tragic” but reasonable. Rice who was playing with a air gun was shot by police just moments after they arrived at the Cleveland park last year. The family is devastated that criminal charges will not be filed against the officers involved.

Prairie View Police Dept. is back in the news after tasing a city council member…

The Prairie View Police Department is back in the spotlight. Two Officers are being investigated for Friday’s tasing of 26 year old African American Council member Jonathan Miller outside of his home. The officers body camera is raising questions as to why Miller was being questioned and what law did he break to warrant the use of a taser. One of the officers involved in this arrest was also involved in the arrest of Sandra Bland. Bland was the African American woman found dead in her cell a day later.

Growing up in a military family, Taylor Thomas lived overseas until she was 16 years old. She called places such as Great Britain and the Philippines home. For a time, Taylor even spoke with a British accent. Well now she resides in the DC area and for the past three years has worked as the news anchor for The Steve Harvey Morning Show on WHUR.
