Police investigate 6 shootings in 24 hours in DC…

It has been a violent 24 hours, 6 shootings in all. The most recent happened this morning on Dix Street in N.E. The male victim was shot twice. Yesterday, a woman was killed & a man with her was injured during a shooting in her home on Edson Place in N.E.. Two teens were shot in the afternoon after getting off of a bus on Benning Road in S.E.. No arrest have been made.

Paul Ryan is the new Speaker of the House…

The full House has voted to make make Senator Paul Ryan the Speaker of the House. Moments before that retiring Speaker of The House John Boehner delivered an emotional farewell speech to Congress. Ryan becomes the youngest Speaker of the House in 140 years.

China does away with the one child law…

China makes a major change. The country is doing away with a law only allowing one child per family. The law set back in 1979 was to help with population control. Now families can have two children.

Growing up in a military family, Taylor Thomas lived overseas until she was 16 years old. She called places such as Great Britain and the Philippines home. For a time, Taylor even spoke with a British accent. Well now she resides in the DC area and for the past three years has worked as the news anchor for The Steve Harvey Morning Show on WHUR.
