GoFundMe account set for “Super Dad” in Prince George’s County…

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the Kettering father now being called “Super Dad”. Corbrin Pettigrew who is a teacher at Oxon Hill High School not only totalled his car rushing to save his two kids in a house fire but the home suffered $50 thousand dollars in damage. In just a few hours several thousand dollars have been donated.

Opponents call for investigation into Mayor decision to support Pepco merger…

A group that opposes the Pepco/Exelon merger are calling for an ethnics investigation into the time of Mayor Muriel Bowser’s decision to support the deal. Members say it was right around the time that Pepco announced that is would give the city $25 Million Dollars to build a new soccer stadium.

A family takes legal action against South Boston Police they say repeatedly tased and killed their loved one …

A civil trial against police in South Boston who handcuffed, shackled and tased an unarmed A. A. man who later died in their custody begins today. The officers who tased 46 year old Lynwood Lambert 20 times in an hour, were only suppose to take him to the hospital. The incident happened in 2013. None of the officers were charged with a crime. In fact, MSNBC is reporting all 3 officers were promoted.

It could soon be illegal to smoke in your home if you live in public housing…

Smoking in and around any public housing complex could soon be illegal nationwide. Later today the Department of Housing and Urban Development will submit a federal proposal to make that a reality. Some residents say if they pay on time, they should be able to smoke inside of their own home.
