Local school evacuated because of a suspicious package found…

Northwestern High School in Hyattsvillle, Maryland has been evacuated because of a suspicious package found. There are no reports of any injuries. Fire crews are on the scene.

Washington faces big loss to Dallas…

Washington fans are having a ruff day with their Cowboy loving mates and/or friends. Last night’s home games against long time rivals Dallas was very disappointing, especially since it happened at the end of the 4th quarter. Skins fans are looking ahead at the next match up December 13th against the Bears.

Panel looks to make changes to Md Law Enforcement Officers Bill of Rights…

Changes are coming to Maryland’s Law Enforcement Officers Bill of Rights. The panel which was created after Freddie Gray’s death is reviewing the state’s policing policies and expected to recommend shortening the time officers have to respond to a complaint of brutality from 10 days to 5 and increasing the time a citizen has to file a complaint from 3 months to possibly as much as a year. The groups final meeting on the changes is expected next month, two days before the MD General Assembly reconvenes from the holiday break.

No child left behind act is on the way out…

The country’s No Child Left Behind Act is on its way out and Md Senator Barbara Mikulski wants parents to know its a good thing. Senator Mikulski says the No Child Left Behind Act was quote “badly broken” and that it caused schools to focus more on testing instead of teaching. Later today, the Senate is expected to pass the every student succeeds act to the replace No Child Left Behind Act.

DC’s Mayor is moving, east of Rock Creek Park…

DC Mayor Bowser is moving on up– East of Rock Creek Park to be exact. the Mayor has decided to leave her modest Riggs Park duplex that she bought for
$125, 000 in 2000 for a more upscale home in Colonial Villiage. The homes there cost a million and up. Bower’s exact address has not begin given out because her security detail is not place.

For a time, Taylor even spoke with a British accent. Well now she resides in the DC area and for the past three years has worked as the news anchor for The Steve Harvey Morning Show on WHUR.
