A possible lunch boycott may have been averted…

It’s unclear if a reported lunch boycott today will actually take place at Flowers High School in Prince George’s County. A school systems spokesperson says the principle of flowers high school, Gorman Brown met with the student leading the social media charge this morning to educate him that the county follows strict USDA guidelines and that the food is safe. School officials also stated that some of the images posted on social media last year were not from Flowers. WHUR is seeking to speak directly with the student and his parents.

President Obama prepares to make some sweep gun regulation changes…

President Barack Obama is set to meet with Attorney General Loretta Lynch in the Oval Office today to discuss using executive action to make some controversial changes to the country’s gun laws. Republican Presidential Candidates are lashing out. Including candidate Chris Christie who says the President is overstepping his authority. Tomorrow the President will unveil his plan to reduce gun violence during a White House event.

Alexandria, Va swears in their first new mayor in over 10 years…

Alexandria’s new mayor will be sworn in tonight at 7 at T.C. Williams. Allison Silberberg is the cities first new mayor in over a decade. She defeated incumbent Bill Euille following his failed write in campaign in November.
