DC opens Hypothermia shelters…

It’s cold outside with the wind chill some in our area’s are in the teens this hour. The District has issued a Hypothermia Alert. That means all of the city shelters are open to people in need of heat. If you want to find the closest to you or if you see someone in need of shelter call 800-535-7252.

One killed in this mornings crash on the beltway…

Maryland State Police say a man has died following a multi-vehicle on the beltway near the New Hampshire Avenue exit. That person has been identified. Three others were injured in the crashed that backed up traffic for miles during the morning rush hour.

Police continue to investigate a potential home invasion case in Temple Hills…

Police in Prince George’s County are still looking into this mornings shooting of a man that was trying to break into a home in Temple Hills. The homeowner shot the suspect. At last check that man was in fair condition at an area hospital. The couple in the home on Brinkley Road were not harmed.

The VA and MD General Assembly start up today…

At the top of the hour, The Maryland and Virginia General Assembly will begin their 90 day session. In MD Governor Larry Hogan plans to present lawmakers with a massive package that cuts $480 million dollars in taxes and fee’s for retirees, working families and small businesses.
