Winter Advisory resulted in school closures…

Morning commuters had to contend with a wintry mix it didn’t last long by 10 most it has stopped falling. Several accidents were reported. One school system in Southern Maryland choose to cancel classes and St. Mary’s and Anne Arundel county schools delayed the start of classes.

Montgomery County’s School Board names Jack Smith to lead the school system..

Montgomery County has a new Superintendent. Last night Jack Smith was named as the new leader by the Montgomery County School Board. Smith will begin his 4 year contact in July.

Candle Light vigil for mother and child killed this week in Ft. Washington…

The life of a Prince George’s County Elementary School teacher and her toddler daughter are being remembered today. A 5:30 candle light vigil for Neshante Davis and her 2 year old daughter, Chloe will be held at Bradbury Heights Elementary School in Capitol Heights. The father of the toddler has admitted to police that he shot them earlier this week following a disagreement over child support.

3 cases of Zika virus found in DC…

The Zika virus has hit our area. DC Health Officials have confirmed 3 cases of the virus. One of the victims is a pregnant woman. All three victims had all traveled to either South or Central America were the virus is present.

Growing up in a military family, Taylor Thomas lived overseas until she was 16 years old. She called places such as Great Britain and the Philippines home. For a time, Taylor even spoke with a British accent. Well now she resides in the DC area and for the past three years has worked as the news anchor for The Steve Harvey Morning Show on WHUR. Recently, Taylor has adopted the Washington Redskins as her most loved pro sports team.
