1 to 3 inches of snow is called for the WHUR listening area…

We are bracing for some snow as much as 3 inches tonight into tomorrow. We will have a full weather report with our meteorologist after news.

DC sets up early for the snow…

Now, DC Leaders say they want to prevent what happened the last early snow fall. At the top of the hour some 200 plows will be deployed to start pre treating the roads. Residents and businesses owners are also being asked to pretreat their properties.

The suspect who shot a toddler in NW remains on the loose…

Police in DC are still looking for the person who shot a child, believed to be 2 years old and a man along the 5400 block of Georgia Avenue in N.W.. The child who was graced on the neck was inside of a business with his mother and the man was outside of the business. Both victims are expected to make a full recovery.

3rd Baltimore Police Officer in court for Freddie Gray’s death…

In Baltimore, a third Police Officer charged in the death of Freddie Gray is in court. Sgt. Alicia White faces manslaughter and additional charges in his death.

Today marks one year anniversary of Natasha McKenna death…

Today marks the one year anniversary of the death of Natasha McKenna while in police custody. McKenna is the African American woman who was arrested during a mental health call and then was later tased several times while in her jail cell because she would not come out on her own. No one has been charged with her death. Supporters plan to demonstrate today to call for justice to be served in her case.

Today’s deadline for Va residents to register for March primary…

In Virginia, today is the deadline to register to vote in March 1st Presidential Primary. Residents in the commonwealth can register online and they have until midnight to do so.
