Victims in Cheverly murder identified…

The bodies of the two woman found shot to death last night in a Cheverly apartment on Landover Road have been identified as 26 year old Tarekka Jones and 22 year old Jalisa Walls-Harris. Early reports state that children may have witnessed it. There’s no word on a suspect.

Md Court of Appeals makes a ruling in William Porter case…

We have received word that a Maryland Court of Appeals has decided that Baltimore Police William Porter will have to testify in the Freddie Gray trails of his fellow officers. Porter who has been granted limited immunity is still awaiting a retrial in the murder of Gray.

HU and DC Mayor break ground on a new Innovation Incubator…

Right now in the District —-The Mayor and leaders from Howard University are taking part in a ground breaking ceremony today to mark the construction of the city’s first Inclusive Innovation Incubator. The site will note only support entrepreneurs but it will provide services to undeserved communities in the District. We will have more on this story tonight on the Drum.

A new school leaders is selected in Montgomery County…

It’s official the Montgomery County School Board has given the green light to a 4 year deal to make Dr. Jack Smith the county’s new Superintendent of Public Schools. His first day on the job will be July 1st.

All eye’s are in Michigan for the big primary today…

It’s an big day for the candidates running for President. Four states hold primaries or caucuses today. The big race with the most delegates today is Michigan with 60 for the Republican and 150 for Democrats. Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump remain the front runner in polls for the state.
