The “Freezing Rain Advisory” remains in effect for parts of the Metro

The “Freezing Rain Advisory” remains in effect until 1pm for area’s North and West of The District of Columbia, like Western Loudoun, Northern Montgomery, Carrol counties. Now some are worried about the wet roads refreezing over night. Coming up is an update on our weather with Meteorologist Veronica Johnson.

Icy conditions lead to more delays today

The icy start resulted delayed start times for several area schools and some businesses. Right now, students in DC, Prince George’s, Montgomery, Alexandria, Arlington and Fairfax counties are in school following a 2 hour delay. The Federal Government is also open following a 2 hour delayed start. Employee’s had the option of using an unscheduled leave or tele-work.

DC police search for a robbery suspect who wore a bizarre mask to commit the crime

The search is on for a robbery suspect who wore a gorilla mask while carried out a robbery in the 39-hundred block of Minnesota Avenue in NE. The suspect was also wielding a machete and a gun. No one was hurt in the incident.

DC’s homicide rate jumps over the weekend

Dc homicide detectives are working 3 murder cases that happened over the weekend. The most recent was a man found shot multiple times on Sunday night in the 13-hundred bock of First Street in SW. A 17 year old male was also shot T Street in N.E. The victim was rushed to a near by hospital where he was later pronounced dead. He has been as Andrew Norman of N.E.. The 3 murders brings the cities homicide rate to 5 for the year.
