Braves player arrested for assault in VA…

Atlanta Braves player Hector Olivera has been arrested in Arlington,
Va. Police were called to the Ritz Carlton Hotel were the found a woman who said he assaulted her. Reports indicate there were visible bruises on her. Hector is in town with the Braves for a four game series against the Nationals.

Verizon tech workers go on strike…

Right now, over 35-thousand Verizon Tech workers in DC & 9 states are walking the picket line –demanding better pensions and health care. The strikers say they are working 12 hour days 6 days a week. The employee’s who service Verizon cable, Fios and their land lines say they have been working without a contract since August. Verizon say they have training employee to handle customer service request.

3 brothers in court for murder of Prince George’s Police Office Jacai Colson…

Prince George’s County prosecutors are in court right now with three brother’s charged in connection with the friendly fire death of Officer Jacai Colson. Attorney’s are laying out their case against Michael, Malik and Elijah Ford. They all face 1st degree murder charges in the March ambush at the Palmer Park Police Station.

DC launches new DC Victim Hotline…

There is now free and confidential help for victims of crime in the District. Earlier this morning DC Mayor Boswer launched the DC Victim Hotline. The number 1-844-4-helpdc. You can also get legal, financial and physical help online at dcvictim.org.

Some Pepco customers will receive a big credit this month…

If you are a Pepco customer I may have some good news for you. Residential customers in Prince George’s and Montgomery will receive a $50 credit on their bill this month and again next year. It has to do with the Pepco/Exelon merger last month.
