DC Mayor Boswer to hold a press conference about the L’Enfant Plaza incident

DC Mayor Muriel Bowser is planning a 3:30 press conference today at the Wilson Building to discuss Monday’s incident at the L’Enfant Plaza Metro Station where one person died. The victims name has not been released. Three other passengers remain in critical condition. The NTSB has ruled out fire on the train or a derailment. Reports this morning appear to point to an electrical issue involving the third rail and power supply cables. Over 80 people including children where trapped on the smoked filled trains for nearly an hour before help arrived. Many riders are complaining of how long it to for fire and EMS crews to rescue them.

A fire at a busy subway in New York this morning is being called suspicious

Investigators are calling this mornings fire at the nations busiest train station as suspicious. It’s believed the fire at the Penn Station Subway started around 2:30 am by 4 commuters and workers were being rushed out of the station. There’s no reports of any injuries or passengers being trapped on trains.

Former Va Governor denied to remain free as he appeals his corruption sentence

A Judge has rejected Bob McDonnell’s request to remain on bail while he appeals his corruption punishment. The Former Virginia Governor has been ordered to report to prison to begin his 2 year sentence on February 9th. His wife, Maureen will find out her punishment on February 20th.

The children of the late Dr. Martin Luther King battle it out in court

There’s a legal battle going on right now involving the children of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr and it has to do with his bible. Bernice King is fighting to keep the heirloom bible in the family. She says her brothers Dexter and Martin III want the bible so they can sell it. This legal battle between the King siblings has been going since last year.

President Obama travels to Arlington, Va on cybersecurity mission

A day after hacker’s attacked the U.S.’s Central Commands facebook and twitter accounts, the President is headed to the Homeland Security Departments cybersecurity site in Arlington. Look for heavy police presence and rolling road closures near the Ballston Cybersecurity Communication Integration Center.

Facebook may soon start sending out AMBER Alerts

Metrosource is reporting that facebook may soon start posting AMBER Alerts of missing children. The alerts will go out with the normal TV warnings but with additional information. The alerts would be specific to the area’s where the child was last seen or may be.
