The shooting of a 7 year old has some in S.E. calling for crime camera’s to go up…

Residents who live along Bruce Place in S.E. are calling on police to put up crime camera’s in their community. This demand follows the shooting of a 7 year old on Saturday. The child who was hit in the shoulder is expected to survive.

DC Public Charters Schools take an unprecedented step to keep students a safe….

DC Public Charter Schools held the first ever “Man the Block” campaign today. Dr. Clark the Principle at Richard Wright Public Charter school in S.E. says the goal is to make kids feel safe walking to and from school to they can concentrate on learning once at school. Volunteers from the community and school staffers are encouraged to come out this afternoon when school lets out and stand in solidarity to let the kids know they are not alone.

Free immunizations today for Prince George’s County students, don’t miss out…

P.G. County School Officials are trying to help parents get their kids ready for the fall semester early. All students in every grade must have up to date shot records by August 23, the start of classes next semester. Today between 4 and 7 Oxon Hill H.S. will host a free immunization clinic. Each year thousands of students miss days of school by not having their shot records updated by the start of classes.
