Day two of the RNC brings new challenges…

Today’s theme for the Republican National Convention is “Making America Work Again”. Two of Trumps children will take to the podium tonight. DC Mayor Muriel Bowser is headed to the RNC today to drum up support for statehood for the District of Columbia. She will return tonight. Community leaders in Montgomery County hold a town hall on police shootings…

Montgomery County leaders want to prevent what happened in Baton Rouge, Minnesota and Dallas from happening here. So tonight leaders are holding a town hall style meeting at 7 at the Silver Spring Civic Building. Tomorrow’s town hall will be held in Germantown at the County Regional Service Center.

School leaders prepare to vote on new changes to volunteer guidelines to prevent sexual abuse…

School leaders in Prince George’s County want to prevent children from becoming victims of sexual abuse. Today leaders will vote on some changes to the guidelines for volunteers. The changes include background checks, finger printing and no longer allowing volunteer’s to transport students in their personal vehicle. The changes follow the numerous charges filled against former volunteer Deonte Carraway.
